The Pawnee Police Department is made up of 6 full-time commissioned officers. The department has 4 part time reserve officers. The Police Department consists of a Police Chief, Assistant Chief, Sergeant, and Patrol Officers. Assignments include, Investigator, Field Training Officer, Reserve Coordinator, Reserve Commander, K9 Unit and Night Supervisor. Officers patrol 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Their patrol area covers approximately 6 square miles, not including the Pawnee Lake. Most of the time, Pawnee has at least 2 or 3 officers on duty. The police officers have jurisdictional agreements with the Pawnee County Sheriffs Department and the Pawnee Nation Law Enforcement. This allows officers to enforce laws and assist other departments in Pawnee County. The department utilizes the Pawnee County Jail to house their prisoners. |
